Gardiners: The UK's Footwear and Workwear Specialists Opt for Ecocooling Solutions

Gardiners, a leading footwear and workwear distributor in the UK, has recently revamped their operational structure by moving into brand new premises in Gloucester. The new facility, comprising of various mezzanine floors, was encountering overheating issues during the summer months. This was largely due to inadequate ventilation. To combat this problem, and provide a more comfortable environment for the staff, Gardiners sought advice for an efficient cooling solution.

Identifying the Problem: Overheating

Overheating is a common issue in workplaces, especially in buildings with multiple mezzanine floors. It can lead to a multitude of problems, including discomfort for employees and potential damage to stored products. It was critical for Gardiners to find a solution that not only resolved this issue, but also aligned with their commitment to sustainability and efficiency.

The Ideal Solution: Ecocooling

Ecocooling, a prominent name in the cooling solutions industry, was brought on board to provide a suitable solution. Known for their energy efficient and environmentally friendly evaporative coolers, Ecocooling was the perfect fit for Gardiners' requirements.

What is an Ecocooler?

An ecocooler is an evaporative cooler that uses the natural process of evaporation to cool the air. These coolers are not only efficient, but also eco-friendly, as they use a fraction of the energy of traditional air conditioning systems.

The Benefits of an Evaporative Cooler

Some of the advantages of an evaporative cooler include:

  • Lower energy consumption
  • Reduced carbon footprint
  • Increased lifespan compared to traditional cooling systems
  • Provides fresh, filtered air

Implementation of the Ecocooling Solution

To combat the overheating issue at Gardiners' new premises, Celsius, Ecocooling's installation partner, installed 12 large Ecocooling Evaporative Coolers. These coolers were strategically ducted in between the various levels of the mezzanine floors. Each system has the capacity to provide over 50kw of cooling, resulting in a combined cooling capacity of over 600kw!

To balance the input systems, 12 Celsius extraction fans were also installed. This ensured a consistent flow of cool, fresh air throughout the facility.

The Outcome

The installation of the Ecocooling Evaporative Coolers has significantly improved the working conditions at Gardiners' new premises. Employees now enjoy a comfortable, cool environment, even during the peak of summer. Moreover, the implementation of these energy-efficient coolers aligns with Gardiners' commitment to sustainability.

Conclusion

As demonstrated by Gardiners' experience, an ecocooler can be an efficient and sustainable solution to combat overheating in the workplace. By opting for these evaporative coolers, businesses can not only improve the comfort of their employees, but also contribute towards a greener planet.
