WARWICK HOSPITAL JOINS THE GREEN ECOCOOLING REVOLUTION

Warwick Hospital has installed an EcoCooling system in its on-site Data centre.  The system replaces the four 10KW split air conditioning units currently used, each of these has a 32 amp electrical feed, compared to the 16 amp feed to the new EcoCooling system, this results in a saving to the hospital of over 90% on their current electricity bills.   This equates to a saving of over 50 tonnes of carbon, going some way to meeting their Carbon Reduction targets.

EVAPORATIVE COOLING OF DATA CENTRE FOR CAPGEMINI BIRMINGHAM

Capgemini has installed a system of five Celsius EcoCooling evaporative coolers and four ducted Celsius extraction fans to replace an old system of five air conditioning units that were cooling their basement Data Centre at their Birmingham offices. The new system is expected to save over £36,000.00 of electricity per annum and over 270 tonnes of carbon emissions, compared to the old inefficient air conditioning system. The Celsius system has an ‘atemperation’ system to ensur...

ANOTHER EVAPORATIVE COOLING SYSTEM FOR CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY

In 2010 Cambridge University installed a system of 6 no. EcoCooling units in their main Data centre for the Engineering Department.   These were so successful that in 2012 they installed another system in their small Data Centre in the Department of Genetics.   This will provide 35KW of cooling and save over 60 tonnes of carbon per annum when compared to Air conditioning.   Another reason for using EcoCooling was the lack of available power in the 200-year-old bu...

COOL AS A BUTCHERS DOG

When Butchers Petcare, the premium pet food manufacturer, had excessively hot temperatures, over 40Co, in their main manufacturing plant, they called in Celsius Design to rectify the problem. They already had an extraction system, using fume scrubbing technology to eliminate the food odours and a fresh air system to introduce fresh ambient air, but these did little to cool the area on hot summer days. Celsius recommended that they install six EcoCooling evaporative cooling units to provide the...

MAIN PRODUCTION AREA COOLING FOR BUTCHERS PETFOOD

Following the success of the installation of seven EcoCooling evaporative coolers in the ‘Wet box’ production area at Butchers Petcare (where the actual product was cooked, minced and canned), they then wanted to cool the main production area, which was an area the size of 3 football pitches, incorporating a packing area, warehouse area and a despatch area. This area regularly reached temperatures of over 35Co in the summer months and made normal working almost impossible. The solu...

EVAPORATIVE COOLING OF DATA CENTRE FOR BRISTOL COUNCIL

Bristol City Council have a Data centre at their Romney House site, it was cooled year-round using five Computer Room Air conditioning units (CRACs), consumed a vast amount of power.   To drastically reduce the running costs and reduce their carbon footprint they have installed a system of six Celsius EcoCooling evaporative cooling units and six Celsius Roof mounted attenuated extraction systems, providing over 200KW of low-cost, low-carbon cooling.   The new system is expe...

Data Centre Cooling Bedford Borough Council

Bedford Borough Council has installed a system of four Celsius EcoCooling units at its main Data centre in the centre of Bedford.  It was a very complicated install into a live Data Centre, but there was no downtime or disruption.  The coolers were installed at a low level and ducted up the wall and into the area, all ducting, coolers and the supporting steelwork had to be colour-coordinated to match the building and minimise the visual impact. The system has immediately started savi...

Food Production Facility Cooling

When quality bacon producers Becketts Foods took over their new multi-million pound production facility they called upon Celsius to cool their offices and impressive new Atrium reception. We used conventional air conditioning in the offices as these were small individual areas and they also needed heating, so heat pump units were perfect.  However, the large front atrium requires over 30KW of cooling due to the south-facing glass and the cost to cool this area if air conditioning were use...

SHOPFLOOR COOLING FOR A PRECISION MACHINE SHOP

Attewell Limited are a precision manufacturer of shim products for the aviation industry, they were experiencing very high temperatures on the shopfloor and this was affecting both personnel comfort and the accuracy of the machining of the components. The solution was a system of 5 no. EcoCooling wall-mounted coolers provide fresh chilled filtered air through the shopfloor and the warm high-level air is extracted through 5 no. Celsius wall-mounted extraction fans.  The system provides over...

ELECTRONIC SERVICES MANUFACTURER STAY COOL IN THE WARMEST WEATHER

In 2010 Asteelflash, one of the world's leading Electronic Services Manufacturers, moved into larger new premises in Bedford.  The new factory suffered from severe overheating during the spring and summer months. Asteelflash called upon Celsius to design and install a new cooling system for them, they were concerned about the running costs of the system and wanted to be as environmentally friendly as possible.   Celsius installed Seven wall-mounted EcoCooling units with attenuation s...

MHRA APPOVED HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM

When Amethyst Group in Warwickshire started storing medicinal products they had to adhere to the MHRA regulations for both minimum and maximum temperatures across the 18-bay warehouse. They approached Celsius and we designed a suitable heating and cooling system, along with a full electronic temperature mapping system with internet access and email alert capability. Heating System The warehouse already had four floor-mounted 175KW gas-fired heaters, but due to the high rack storage, there wou...

ABERAERON COUNCIL DATA CENTRE COOLING SOLUTION

Aberystwyth Council have fitted two Celsius EcoCooling units and two Celsius extraction fans to their Data Centre in Aberaeron.   The area was previously cooled using 4 standard DX split systems providing nearly 50KW of cooling and costing many thousands to operate and maintain. Each EcoCooler in this application is estimated to save over £11,500.00 per annum and over 60 tonnes of Carbon per annum. Celsius undertook the complete installation including power and water supplies...

POW HOSPITAL GOES GREEN

POW Hospital, based in Ely, contacted Celsius to look at an alternative cooling solution in two wards that currently suffer from high summertime temperatures.  Each ward used to be cooled by four 5kw air conditioning units, creating a combined cooling capability of 20kw. However, these systems were not only coming towards their end of life but also awfully expensive to run.   Celsius designed and installed a suitable cooling system, where 1 EcoCooling unit was fitted into each w...

AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS SUPPLIER REQUIRE HEATING SYSTEM FOR NEW PREMISES

International Automotive Components (IAC) is a leading global supplier of automotive components and systems. Due to the company's ongoing success, IAC decided to expand and set up a new production facility, the new premises consisted of two huge buildings occupying 28,800m2, and the company will manufacture, assemble, and sequence components for delivery to Jaguar Land Rover’s nearby Solihull plant, which makes the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar, as well as the Jagua...

DORSET COUNCIL GO GREEN

In early 2022 Celsius Design installed two EcoCooling systems and two extraction fans in a data centre at Dorset Council through Convergence Group. Atemperation sections were also fitted to mix some of the warm air with the entering cold air for the winter conditions to ensure the racks receive the air at the correct temperature at all times. The system is controlled from a master control panel which is interlinked with the existing CRACS to ensure a fully automated system. It’s been calc...
